Bishopgate Street
York
This renovation took a 18th century terrace that had previously been absorbed into the next door antiques shop and turned it into a spacious family home on one of Yorks favourite local high streets.
Located just at the end of the renowned Bishopthorpe Road high street, the terrace on Bishopgate Street was once incorporated into the antiques shop next door. When we took it on the property had never had its own electricity or gas supply. The concept was to renovate the existing dilapidated terrace and open up and extend the ground floor into one airy and light filled living space. An existing kitchen extension was demolished and replaced with a full width dining room with bifold doors opening onto the traditional York backyard.
